SourceAcademy
Easiest way to get a website made.
I wrote about how I unintentionally became a web developer.
TL;DR In college I thought a friend's business website could be better and he agreed to pay me to try making a new one. Other people in the coworking space asked me if I was a web developer (technically yes, I suppose?). I had more work than I could do myself and started outsourcing to other students. Realised students are talented but cheap and there might just be a business there...

I had been working with student freelancers on client projects but I wanted to grow the team building SourceAcademy itself. I hired a friend I made at Startup Weekend Galway as Lead Developer and a friend from college to work on Customer Success and manage projects.

Incorporated 3xW Digital Limited as a private limited company registered in Ireland in order to do this properly.

I had been sitting on the idea for SourceAcademy for a few months. I went to Startup Weekend Galway not intending on pitching an idea but when they were looking for more ideas I put it forward.
We formed a team, built a MVP site on Shopify and I sold two websites for €400 each the next day.

I think it's too hard for small businesses and freelancers to get a website made. It's too time-consuming, too confusing, and too expensive for people who spend all day running their business.
