Spacedtime
Remember the important things in your life.
I posted on Hackernews today around 10 am. I didn't see much movement so I kind of forgot about it. However, around 4 pm, it made it to the first page. Since then been going back and forth with people on the comment threads and on ever.chat/spacedtime. I look forward to seeing what kind of data this has produced now that I have an app that people are able to explore.
After a full day of watching the PH board, I started slowly at the bottom and ended 11th place with 44 votes.
Other results
- 500+ downloads in npm
- 11 github clones
- 9 github stars
- 279 visits to the website.
I examined what I would do differently next time.

It was 4am and I couldn't sleep. So I decided to make it an early post on Product hunt, trying to get as much time on the day's page as possible.
I first recorded a Hi Product Hunt video describing what and why Spacedtime exists. I got all my descriptions, tagline, screenshots and logo ready and created my Post.
I let two friends know and asked to upvote.
I posted on my twitter feed, tagging the PH community.
In about an hour, it was approved, I was added as maker for the project.

Every night, I spent about 30 minutes working on Spacedtime, recording the content and uploading to Youtube. I did not publish any content yet. The plan is to launch and slowly release content to the world.
Next step, get ready to post on Product Hunt.

Because I'm an engineer and spend lot of time in the command line, I decided to create a CLI application. I also wanted to document this experience of creating an app and launching. So I setup OBS and a youtube channel to record and upload my videos.

As COVID-19 took over, and I started to work from home. I decided to take on a side project I've been thinking about for quite some time. I have an issue of not being able to remember and have been a fan of the spaced-repetition-technique that many flashcard systems use. However, the applications out there are primarily focused on remembering vocabulary, which is useful but not what I was looking for.
I wanted something personal, and a place to easily add & recall things I find important in my life.

I frequently cannot remember. I'm aware of the spaced time repetition technique. I thought it would be great for an app to use the technique on not vocabulary but facts about my life that I want to remember.
