December 4, 2019 Full API documentation live

We just posted full documentation for an open API that allows people to create their own fundraising application, or embed an opportunity to make a cash transfer to someone living on less than $2 a day into an existing product. Spare manages all the logistics to ensure the donation reaches the intended recipient.

July 11, 2019 Built a second use case for our API

We built a second use case for our open API that allows people to raise funds to end immediate poverty: https://spare.gives/api-docs/plugins

It's a simple plug-in that let's people add a donation button to any website (e.g., https://www.workshopnairobi.com/). It takes about 3 lines of html code. Sort of like adding a PayPal button.

We've started promoting the button, and wonder if we could use it to put affiliate marketing to work for good causes!

June 12, 2019 First 100 users

We got our first 100 users on our consumer facing charitable giving app: https://app.spare.gives. This app is a test of our open API that allows anyone to create a creative tool to fund-raise to end immediate poverty.

Mostly this was from word of mouth advertising, we'll work out the bugs with this initial group and then look to bring on more users.
