SparkDay
Helps busy parents & teens own their day
I’m a solo founder building SparkDay — an AI-powered scheduling and meal planning app for families.
The idea came from my own life. Every night, the same mental loop: Did I sign the permission slip? What’s for dinner tomorrow? Does my kid have Taekwondo or piano on Thursday?
I build AI systems for living, so I started building this app. My initial version had some hiccups : building 1 product for two very different persona is hard!
1. Parents want logistics (“Who needs a ride at 4:30?”). Teens want encouragement (“Math test today — you’ve got this”). Same data, completely different experience. I had to build two UIs inside one app.
2. Nutrition framed as health. “Balanced nutrition” and “daily intake” — did not resonate with my teen. So, reframed as performance fuel: “Brain food for your test. Banana + PB at 8:30 — keeps you sharp through the whole exam.”
3. Look & feel needs personal touch. Added 5 color themes. My teen picked purple+gold immediately.
What SparkDay does now: Every morning, each family member gets an AI briefing. Parents see logistics. Teens see a pep talk from a coach, not a lecture. Dinner suggestions match how busy each evening is. Teens get lunch + snacks timed to their tests and practices.
Everyone can easily add tasks and activities (school flyer, calendar, natural language) and share events with family. Parent gets a reminder on kids rides/appointments without adding twice.
Teens join with an invite code and a nickname. No email, no tracking, no ads.
The economics work at $7.99 per subscriber, with fractional AI costs. Building solo, nights and weekends.
Where I am: TestFlight with my family. Waitlist at SparkDay.me

About
As a busy working parent I realize how hard it is to navigate kid’s school/activities, work/travel, social activities and balance all of that with healthy meals. So I built this app to help manage the chaos.
