SparkySpot
Tech jobs searching done right
Soft launch going well.
Totaly we got 20 sign-ups, 3 of them with a referral system.
The conversion is 7.78%.
The main traffic source is Facebook developers groups.
Facebook AD turned out at 40 cents per click, so it probably will not work.
The way from 1 to 10 users and from 10 to 100 requires a lot of manual work, and, hopefully, after we can turn on the viral growth
Yesterday we made a soft launch of our new feature — Resume builder.
It's free for job seekers, but you have only 1 template and to unlock all other you need to invite 3 friends.
Yesterday we got 7 new sign-ups and today one of them invite 3 friends today!

Hi all!
I’m Dmitry and I’m a founder of SparkySpot, a new platform working tirelessly to help peoples in IT find a new job hassle-free.
I also a frontend developer with 10 years of experience and I know how rapidly the industry is growing, how often do technologies change and how difficult it is to find time to learn something new that does not fit into your main development stack.
And as a part of SparkySpot, I've created a smart weekly newsletter for founders who code that helps stay up to date with all parts of the front-end without spending a lot of time.
Here how it works. Once a week you got an email that covers one specific topic or technology and let you dive into it with 5 steps:
- About and general information
- Where can I use
- Dive into
- Useful links and resources
- Getting started with the practical task
And over the next week, you have time to go throw these steps which are cover all necessary information, contain links for useful articles, libraries, and examples and let you start with the practical task.
Here is upcoming topics:
- Static site generators
- CSS Architecture
- Front-end performance
- PWA
- Testing JavaScript
- Server-Side Rendering(SSR)
- Mobile applications
- Web Security for Frontend
- GraphQL
- Firebase
You can subscribe here https://sparkyspot.com/week-of-code?founder=true
And let me know if you want to cover any topic or technology and I'll add it to the list.

Since SparkySpot goes live my every morning starts with the Google Analytics dashboard with the previous day stats. Yesterday was no exception and in conversion widget, for the first time, I sow not 0 but 1 and did not attach any importance to this because after a new user signs up I set up a Slack notification to know about it immediately and do not receive it. GA Goal Conversion setup up to track the flow of 4 steps and finally track the last URL on which user lends after registration and I assumed that this was some kind of mistake.
But today I open DB to change my user permissions and how surprised I was when sow that I got the first user!
Very excited!

Hi Dmitriy, if you track your KPIs via Google Analytics, StatsGlitch.com might add you a lot of value in terms of receiving notifications based on GA data fluctuations. Furthermore, your described functionality is available in the free tier!

Slack has settings that will snooze notifications during certain hours. Make sure they are not enabled if you are seriously relying on this method.
Also maybe think of another way to notify yourself that is more reliable (email, text, etc). Slack notifications are only somewhat reliable based on my 1 year of usage.

Finally, after the beta test, I've launched
SparkySpot is a job searching marketplace and I spend some time to understand how to make the experience of job searching personally for everyone based on user interest and avoid the not relevant suggestion.
In order to get this experience, I've created boards flow. Boards are the categories that cover some global topics (like Fronted, UI/UX design, etc.) that users can follow and then provide more personal details like skills, experience, desired position, type of employment and based on this information get personalized job feed.
Now I'll focus on attracting recruiters to test job posting flow and getting first job seekers signed up.
Please, check it out https://sparkyspot.com/

Finally, after 3 months of development and testing, I've launched a public beta.
It was difficult to determine the final functionalities and overcome the desire to add more functionality before launch, but finally, it happened.
SparkySpot is an IT industry-focused job search marketplace where job seekers can create and update their resumes and send applications for jobs that interest them. And companies can post jobs and send an offer to applicants who are suitable for the job with active search status, which eliminates spam and irrelevant messages.
I would love and appreciate it if you could test and share it with companies who looking for new team members or peoples who searching for a new job. Thanks!
