SpecialInSG
Everything for Singapore's Specials Now & Future.
To prepare for the launch of SpecialInSG, I focused on the following key steps:
Team Collaboration: Aligning the team around the mission and vision for the platform.
User Testing: Engaging with early users to gather feedback and ensure usability.
Market Priming: Building awareness and excitement around the upcoming launch.
Technical Support: Ensuring robust infrastructure and support channels are in place.
Easy-to-Use Interaction: Designing intuitive interfaces and seamless user experiences.
Risk Assessment: Identifying potential challenges and planning mitigations.
Launch Plan: Defining the timeline and key milestones for a smooth launch.
Feedback Mechanism: Implementing channels to capture and act on user feedback post-launch.
Create Launch Content: Developing engaging content to drive traffic and user engagement.
Set Up Analytics: Monitoring key metrics to track success and areas for improvement.
My process for building an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) for SpecialInSG in just 10 days was a sprint from ideation to launch, focusing on core features that would validate our concept without overcomplicating the initial offering. Here's a concise breakdown of the steps we took:
Day 1: Assemble the Team
Day 2: Define the Core Value Proposition
Day 3-4: Wireframing and Design
Day 5-8: Development
Day 9: Integration and Testing
Day 10: Soft Launch and Feedback Collection

Sometimes, the best product ideas come from simply observing what’s missing in everyday life. For me, it started with a simple realization: Singapore has so much to offer—vibrant events, hidden gems, and unique cultural experiences—but no single platform brings it all together in one place.
That’s when the idea hit. What if there was a go-to resource where locals and visitors could easily discover the latest trends, events, and insights about the city? A platform that didn’t just list information but captured the essence of Singapore, helping people connect with the heart of the city-state.
So, I decided to create a product called “SpecialInSG”, which stands for Specials in Singapore. The mission was clear: to build a premier platform that highlights all the special aspects of Singapore, from trendy spots to local events and hidden treasures.
With a team of passionate innovators who shared this vision, we set out to build exactly that. Our goal wasn’t just to create another content hub but a community-driven space where anyone could find inspiration and practical tips to make the most of their time in Singapore.
The journey taught me that great ideas often come from recognizing unmet needs and tapping into shared passions. And when you combine those two elements, you’re already halfway to something special.
