Web Performance monitoring tool that drives results
I launched the Speetals landing page https://speetals.com to give an idea about the tool, and invite people to request early access!
I recorded a video of the landing page and tweeted about it!
Despite having done it on a Saturday, the tweet made good visibility during the weekend and until Tuesday.
Some metrics:
- 387 users
- 454 sessions
- 1min Avg session duration
- 110 requested early access!
- 23 retweets
- 56 Likes
- 3 citations
I sent an email to the 36 beta testers with access to the MVP. Stressful moment because I knew that the MVP wasn't that ready to be really tested.
Some stats:
- 64 open rate
- 44 click rate
- 80% created an account
- 50% was able to add a website
- 5 high-value feedback (thanks to them!)
- Too many errors/bugs encountered testing the tool :)
Excited about the very first MVP of Speetals, I tweeted about it
And started collecting the email addresses of interested people.
I was able to collect 36 interested people! I believe that this step was a good move to accelerate things from a product management point of view.
I was stuck and not able to make progress on the tool. No much time between all the engagements (SEO and Web Performance consulting, Newsletter..etc). I decided to hire an intern on web development so we could start seriously building stuff. The hiring process was fun!

At this time, I got more and more excited about the idea. So I decided to start building something, kind of a prototype. This step helped me to unlock technical constraints and validate in some way the feasibility of the tool. I also made a mistake: I started with thinking about the technical stack to develop my product. I mean, it was too early for that.
I've been thinking about creating a performance monitoring tool that is both useful and simple for two years. I started to imagine what it might look like and what issues it would be useful for.
The first draft is really short, it only contained 3 main features..
