September 5, 2026 Shipping SpokenPost: Why we built a voice-first social writer

Most builders and creators don't have an idea problem, they have a translation problem.

You can explain an architecture decision or a product insight out loud in 60 seconds with total clarity. But sitting down to draft hooks, format LinkedIn carousels, and refine threads takes two hours after a full day of shipping code.

That friction is why I built SpokenPost (https://tryspokenpost.com).

How it works:

  • Record or upload a 30–60s raw voice memo.

  • SpokenPost structures it into ready-to-post LinkedIn carousels (with instant PDF export), X threads, and concise updates.

  • Zero design work or prompt crafting required.

We are officially launching on Product Hunt this coming Tuesday, Sep 8.

Would love early feedback from fellow indie hackers: what is your biggest bottleneck when sharing what you build?

Really sharp question!retention and habit change are the real test here. What I've found comes down to activation energy: Lower barrier to capture: When an idea strikes during a commute, walk, or right after a meeting, opening a blank doc to type structured paragraphs has high friction, so 90% of ideas evaporate. Tapping record for 45 seconds feels as effortless as leaving a WhatsApp voice note. Eliminating the design step: Most "AI text writers" still leave you with raw text. You then have to copy-paste into Canva, format carousel slides, adjust fonts, and export to PDF. That design friction is where consistency usually dies. SpokenPost outputs the actual ready-to-upload carousel slides directly. So it's less about replacing a writer's deliberate writing session and more about capturing the spontaneous 80% of insights that never would have made it past the "I'll write this down later" stage. Curious: what's your current capture workflow when an insight hits you away from your desk?

The translation problem makes sense, but I’d be curious what happens after the novelty wears off. Do people actually start with a voice memo more often and publish more, or does SpokenPost mainly make an existing AI workflow a bit faster?

Talking is easy; staring at a blank draft after a long workday kills consistency. SpokenPost exists to turn 60s of spoken audio into polished LinkedIn carousels and X threads instantly.
