Sure glad I got over my fears about recording video DMs!

I am super awkward on whenever anything is being recorded, but my first 4minute and 50 second outreach video resulted in a reply within minutes & THAT follow up convo resulted a demo/pitch meeting.

Yes, this might be an anomaly, but I am totally totally bought in on this strategy video DM strategy.

My "script" went a little something like...

• My name + a compliment, in this case "I really like what you've done with this rebrand"
• Empathy, in this case "I know it's been a tough year for experience based businesses like yours...
• Compliment #2, in this case "...but it seems like you guys are still making moves! Congratulations on bringing on a new executive..."
• Purpose for outreach, in this case "I really want to see you guys succeed, so I am reaching out to share some ideas that will boost your online presence and build your audience..."
• Free advice, in this case "I was checking out your website and..."
• More free advice...
• More free advice...
• Closer, in this case "to wrap this up, I'd love to help you guys out. If you like any of these ideas and want to implement these strategies into your growth marketing program, hit me up. I've included my cell and email in the DM..."

I used CloudApp (which I use for internal purposes to share feedback and mock up web pages, etc.) which is very similar to Loom.

I know this does not scale, but for early customers, I can see this being an effective strategy. Without mountains of social proof, building trust is important. I have to believe this is a trust building strategy.
