Sprechcard
language learning, German,
I’m building SprechCard — a German-learning SaaS as a solo founder 🇩🇪
Hey everyone! 👋
I’m building SprechCard, an independent German-learning platform focused on helping people actually remember and use German vocabulary.
The idea started pretty simply: I wanted a better way to learn German than constantly adding more words to a flashcard deck and eventually forgetting them.
So I started building my own.
Today, SprechCard has grown into a full platform with:
- 🧠 Spaced repetition
- 🇩🇪 A1–C2 German vocabulary
- 🔊 German audio
- 🤖 AI-powered learning features
- 🗣️ Speaking practice
- 📚 Thousands of vocabulary cards
- 💳 Free + optional Plus membership
I'm now at the stage where I'm trying to move from "I built this" to "people actually use this."
That's probably the hardest part so far.
I'm especially interested in learning what makes someone choose a smaller independent product over established options like Anki, Quizlet, or Duolingo.
So if you're learning German, I'd love your brutally honest opinion:
What would make you use SprechCard every day?
And if you're another indie hacker, I'd also love to hear what worked for you when you went from building your product to actually getting your first users.
I'll be sharing the progress, mistakes, usage numbers, and hopefully revenue as I go.

Thanks for checking it out! ❤️
About
I’m building SprechCard because I believe learning German can be much more effective when you focus on actually remembering and using vocabulary instead of endlessly collecting flashcards.
