February 19, 2020 Hit 100 Email Subscribers

I hit 100 email subscribers on Spred! I did this through a couple of methods, but mostly just by experimenting...

  1. Sending personalized instagram videos once users followed me. I got a good initial following by following people in my niche.

  2. Posting on Reddit threads (r/flipping, r/poshmark) and contributing to facebook groups.

January 19, 2020 Hired an Outsourcing Agency for MVP

In January, I hired an overseas agency via Upwork to build my mvp.

This turned out to be pretty big waste of time + money, for several reasons.

  1. I didn't communicate the project scope clearly, so there was miscommunication right off the bat.

  2. The agency kept extending and pushing the deadline. Initially, it was supposed to be done end of February but it lasted until the end of March until they asked for another push back.

At this point, I requested (and received) a refund due to poor service. I learned from this relationship that outsourcing agencies really are hit or miss.

December 12, 2019 Came up with my idea

When I was in highschool, I use to try selling clothes and items to flip. I found that it was pretty hard and there weren't many smooth, integrated tools to help you cross-list to secondhand, online marketplaces.

With 0 experience in SaaS, I decided to explore building Spred - which I'd like to consider the "Buffer" for Resellers (instead of social media managers)>

About

Thrift stores have a tough time managing their e-commerce presence because they receive hundreds of unique items every day. We're fixing that by allowing them to charge customers only when the inventory is in store.
