the step-by-step guide builder MVP was launched but couldn't generate enough traction, so i have decided to pivot
ssimple.co is now a widget that can be embed into website or documentation to collect waitlist signups for upcoming feature
will explain the story behind this pivot in future posts
I think many step-by-step guides with a lot of screenshots and text are overwhelming to read
Which is why I turned guides into presentations

After months of talking to potential customers to validate the idea, I finally started writing the first line of code for ssimple.co. There are many similar screen recording extensions out in the market, but I have decided to focus on the tutorial/walkthrough niche.

Your idea looks interesting but the LP breaks trust at the moment.

There is definitely a niche for a screen recorder that handles context well. Most screen recorders miss this critical element. Handling context means it is easier to share the story (how to do x, problem with y). If context is not automatically grabbed by the tool, it is more effortful for citizen. If context is complicated to grab, then frictionless prompt or two to will assist process.- Citizen cannot see what type of app, e.g. chrome extension it looks like but nothing is in the chrome store
- Signup for what ? Why would anyone click this if they do not know what they will receive. Be transparent. The idea around trust is do not break it, or unwittingly break it. As it takes at least 3:1 ratio to rebuild it with each citizen.

How do you differ from all the other similar tools out there?
Oh, and I couldn't find your products price on the site.I'm also curious about how you validated the idea. Have you read 'The Mom Test'? Would recommend reading some summaries if you haven't.

Thanks for the feedback. I validated the idea by experiencing this problem myself, then went out and talked to people I believe that shared the same concern. I have read "The Mom Test" and think it's a great book.
There's no pricing on the page because I'm still in the early testing phase. Happy to let you try it out for free if interested!
