Beta testers wanted! Shared grocery list app.
Striiim.com is a shared shopping list app.
How do you share your grocery list with family?
Striiim.com is:
-
Free with no ads.
-
Real-time collaborative. If you are at home and remember you need apples, your partner who is at the store will see you added apples to your list in real-time. Striiim is the Figma of grocery lists!
What I'd be most grateful for is hearing why you dislike my app, why you wouldn't try it? Thank you for considering trying my app!
About
To be honest, I wanted to learn Javascript. So I started building something I needed personally. There are a lot of shopping list apps out there but they all cost money. I wanted a free, no ads app.

This is awesome!
Maybe we can test each other's platform?!
Hi @JoeMose Sure! I went to your profile page to find your platform so I could test it but didn't see one? Let me know what your platform is and I'll take a look! :)
Ooops! We're https://assemblyapp.io :)
Where can I give you feedback?!
In the spirit of open-source-ish could you leave feedback as a comment here? Where should I leave feedback for you? THANK YOU @JoeMose
Awesome! I'll drop my notes here once I've spent some time in the app :)
You're welcome to drop it across on the Twitter, as to not hijack your thread!! π
Great! I am sending feedback to the twitter handle @joemoses33
now!
Thank you so much for the awesome feedback! We've already implemented a lot of your feedback - it's super valuable <3
Here's some feedback for you - as you did, I'll keep it super honest :)
Auth - I think it would make a lot of sense to add extra auth options. Twitter, Github, etc - or just plain Email/pass for those who aren't into socials!
Button colours - I'd reserve the purple colour for critical CTAs, to draw attention to those. It will help set some visual hierarchy for the rest of the CTAS
Increase/decrease buttons - I was slightly confused that the number of items was not shown between the two -/+ buttons, it took me a few moments to identify that (Needs x) next to the title. I'd add the quantity in between the buttons :)
Widescrens - on ultrawide screens, there's no container, which means I had to move my head to look left to right - maybe add a container for larger screens to make the content more digestible?
Cards/UI - I think it would be a huge bonus to have the content separated by cards, to make it easier to scan to what you are looking for
PWA routes - I'd look at adding routing to enable people to resume their session based on the page/tab they are using - super helpful, especially for when you share a page to a partner :)
I hope this is all helpful! Overall I think the app works really well. It shows that you have put a lot of time into the project π
@JoeMose Wow. Thank you! I am very grateful to you for the time and THOUGHT you put into this. All of these ideas are REALLY helpful and I have put them on my development plan. THANK YOU! I look forward to following the progress of your app!
Ditto! I really appreciate your time in testing! I'll be following along, let me if you want testing anytime!!
