Sub·human
Chrome extension that reveals pixel trackers in your browser
It was 4 in the morning, and I didn't know what I was doing but I really wanted to get it out! If anything, pushing things out would do me more good than holding back and be calculated. After all, I can learn from failures but not from nothing. The extension is still pending review on Chrome web store due to some broad scope domains I used in the code, but you can install it locally now from https://jochasinga.github.com/subhuman.
I had only a few days outside of work and family, and optimized the feature set to fit in this timeframe. I thought I would get it done in two days, but had to take it easy as I was inexperience with browser API. I've learned so much in such a short time and just being able to work on something quickly has brought back the joy of making things.

This happened over the course of a heated discussion on Superhuman, the much-hyped exclusive email client, and how it uses pixel trackers or read receipts to track proactively recipients' activities, times, and locations without their explicit acknowledgement. I wanted to do something more than just participating in the tweet storm.

I put this together in a few days after a discussion on email use of soliciting pixel trackers because I feel everyone should be aware when they are being tracked unknowly.
