April 1, 2026 Just Launched

Just launched Sublookout today after working on it for the last few months. I believe this tool will be quite helpful for some, but they probably don't even know about it. But thats okay for now, I'll keep working on the SEO part meanwhile :).

Ai redrafted content from here on out.

Sublookout monitors any subreddit 24/7 for keywords you choose and alerts you the moment a matching post appears — via email or Slack. You set it up once and forget about it.

❕What Problem It Solves

Reddit has millions of posts every day. Buried in there are people asking for tool recommendations, venting about competitors, looking for freelancers, or describing exactly the problem your product solves. By the time you find those posts manually, someone else has already replied.

Sublookout puts you in the conversation first.

❕Use Cases

→ Founders tracking competitor mentions (switching from 'product x' ), or alternative to 'product x').

For example, someone posts that they are switching from Stripe. Looking for alternatives from the community? – If you (competitor) are tracking the 'Stripe' keyword in that sub, you will get a notification when this user posts it. You now have a fresh lead and take it from there.

→ Marketing agencies catching "need help with marketing" posts before anyone else (Good lead for marketing agency/person)

→ SaaS products trying to find people asking for exactly what they offer (For example, a person is looking for a resume builder, and you happen to have one)

→ Freelancers spotting "need a developer/designer / writer" posts in real time

→ Indie hackers monitoring their own brand mentions across Reddit

❕Why I Built It

I'm a solo founder. I don't have a sales team or a marketing budget. Reddit is one of the few places where real conversations happen in public — where someone will genuinely say "I'm looking for a tool that does X." Those posts are leads. But you have to be there when they happen.

Competitors exist, but it only covers a handful of subreddits and have no Slack integration or filtering at this price point. I wanted something purpose-built for founders and small teams.

❕Where It Is Now

Sublookout launched on Product Hunt today. It's a paid SaaS at $12/month with a 20% lifetime discount for early users (code: PRODUCTHUNT) – Expires this week.

I'd love feedback from this community — on the product, the positioning, the pricing, anything. What would make you actually pay for something like this?

About

I built Sublookout after spending way too much time manually checking Reddit for mentions. It monitors any subreddit 24/7 and pings you when a matching post appears —great for finding leads, & tracking competitors.
