February 7, 2021 Beta access opened

We finished the core of our functionality and opened the doors to our first set of beta customers.

We're rolling out to small groups, to begin with, to make sure we can capture feedback and smash bugs quickly.

Hoping that we can have everyone who has signed up on board by the end of February. We're then going to release v1.0.0 officially and start to publicise ourselves wider.

January 23, 2021 Finished the build ready for beta users

We've finished the build! We're now testing it with our own business subscriptions, and trying to break it this week.

All going well, we should be emailing our beta users on the 1st Feb for them to sign-up and start using the product.

Our feature set is skinny at the moment while we get some initial feedback from customers, and will start dropping more features in the coming weeks.

The goal is for 15 paid users by the end of Feb!

So far, it's just been through Twitter. Either tweeting about the product or replying to relevant tweets.

January 1, 2021 Launched our landing page to get beta users

We purchased a domain (subtrac.io) and spun up a quick landing page to collect email addresses for our beta users.

We got 10 in the first week and continued to validate the idea with more market research. We could only find subscription tracking tools for consumers, nothing aimed at businesses and tracking their subscriptions and user licenses

December 22, 2020 Started building the MVP

Once we had the idea, we set to work writing the code and designing the interface for Subtrac.

Within a week we had a working prototype that we tested on friends and family. They all seemed to find it useful and intuitive to use.

We obviously didn't just take their word for it, we started spreading the word to set sign-ups for our beta access

December 20, 2020 Came up with the idea!

After checking my business card, I found too many subscriptions I was paying for but not using. I had used a spreadsheet a few years ago to track them all, but I'd stopped maintaining it.

This is when the idea for Subtrac was born. How can I track them easily in one place, and get reminded when payments were due and contracts were expiring

About

The idea for Subtrac came after finding loads of wasted business subscriptions we weren't using anymore. Spreadsheets and manually checking bank statements wasn't working, so we created Subtrac to easily track them all
