SuperMotion
Create beautiful 3D videos to showcase your product updates
Today, I worked on SuperMotion mobile responsiveness.

The video tech was already cross-platform, so I had to adapt the UI and make basic elements like input, select, buttons, etc. mobile friendly.
IMHO it's a big step for the product because I don't know many good product video editors that work on mobile.
It's an experiment since users might just prefer their computer to edit videos.
Only time will tell...
I've built many tools during the past ten years, and marketing has always been the most challenging part.
SuperMotion.co is quite different, though.
I'm dogfooding SuperMotion video editor for all my X/Twitter posts. For all the feature announcements, I use SuperMotion to create scroll-stopping videos.
It works like a charm, and marketing feels so easy. Every single post gets hundreds of views, comments, and likes.
Yet conversions are very low. It's weird for me because the value of SuperMotion works on them (video captures their attention), but they don't quite get it.
Of course, there are many possible reasons for this:
- Complex UI
- Poor landing page copies
- Targeting the wrong audience
- Saturated market
I'm already working on 1-2, and 3 seems unlikely.
For 4, a possible explanation is this: People already use other traditional solutions (AfterEffects, Screen Studio, or a screen recording) and are skeptical about using something different. Every tool has something different to offer.
Anyway, the only way to find out is to keep on experimenting. So here we go 👨🔬

SuperMotion launched back on Sept 2023. It was a tool to create social media videos with simple intor-outro effects and a gradient, or GIF background.
After a few months, I realised that most users used SuperMotion for product updates and milestones. And they prefer using screenshots as an input to the video tool.
As a designer, I've used many video tools that promise a quick editing experience but they fail miserably because they lack basic features.
So, it was obvious that I could pivot to product videos from screenshots.
Building feature is easy and AI will make it even easier. Promoting those features is still hard and many non-designers fail miserably to capture people attention on social media.
The new SuperMotion mission is to help those non-technical founders promote their products!

As a founder who build's in public, it was tedius to create attention grabbing videos for new product features. With SuperMotion, you can generate catchy 3D videos to showcase your new features in less than a minute.
