Surf Snapshot
Create your personal surf journal
Shipped custom avatars and bios for user profiles. Instantly makes the site feel much more personal and more like an actual profile or journal. I also made some big changes to how I handle image uploads/integration tests that should help build some of the additional features I'm planning on adding down the line.
I worked with a friend to develop the new logo for Surf Snapshot. It really helped to have another design look at the site and offer some guidance on the branding side of things.
Paired with this I incorporated much of the beta user feedback into the copy of the landing page. I focused on clearly describing what the product does / how it works. I read a bunch of articles on marketing and copywriting and of course, I've been listening to a ton of Indie Hackers podcasts episodes which has been keeping me motivated!

I set the goal to launch Surf Snapshot for the new year and achieved it. In total, I worked about 2-3 months nights and weekends to build out the version of the site. In order to launch the site fast, I used Supabase for the authorization. I spent most of my time on the GQL API and working to pull weather data for every surf session.
