SweetData.io

Today, I am excited to launch SweetData.io on Indie Hackers. I expect to get honest feedback from the community as well as guidance on how I should grow the platform.

I hope to get positive feedback on the idea but also learn from the experience of the community. What path should this take!

The MVP is complete, the server is up and running. Now is time to start trying to get traction.

I have been thinking about several marketing strategies. The main difficulty is the chicken or the egg problem. People won't be using the platform if they can't find valuable datasets and people won't upload their own datasets if no one is using the platform.

Strategy: Upload some public domain datasets on the platform to get more content and give value to the community.

On new year's, I decided to attack this idea and build an MVP from scratch in less than 3 days. I would be all alone at home and would have to build a working prototype, develop the business plan for the startup, find a domain name...

Code, Write, Sleep, Eat -> Repeat.

I was able to produce a semi-working MVP in 55h. SweetData.io was born.

Over and over again developers that work on AI/Machine learning kept complaining on lack of access to high quality data.

Why not build a platform where people can share and even sell datasets. Data is said to be the new oil. But we need pipelines. The idea started to look more and more promising.
