Swipe Contacts Cleaner
Clean your iPhone contacts with Tinder-like swipes
Hi Indie Hackers 👋
I want to share a small personal project and get some honest feedback from people who’ve been through this before.
A while ago my wife showed me her iPhone contacts and said:
“I have more than 3,000 contacts here. Cleaning this manually is impossible.”
She was right.
iOS doesn’t really offer a convenient way to review and delete contacts one by one — especially when you’ve accumulated years of old numbers, duplicates, and people you don’t even remember anymore.
So I built a small iOS app just for her.
The core idea is very simple:
one contact at a time
swipe right → keep
swipe left → delete
basically Tinder, but for contacts
Surprisingly, this turned a boring chore into something fast and even a bit enjoyable.
That made me think this might be a common problem, so I cleaned up the app and published it on the App Store.
Reality check 😅
After a month, the app had only a couple of downloads.
Now I’m trying to understand:
Is this actually a real problem for more people, or just for us?
Is the value proposition clear enough?
How would you explain this app to a potential user in one sentence?
Pricing transparency:
The app uses a subscription model with a 3-day free trial, which can be canceled anytime during the trial without being charged.
I’m not here to hard-sell — I genuinely want feedback:
would you personally use something like this?
what feels unnecessary or confusing?
what would make it a “no-brainer” for you?
If you’re curious, here’s the app:

Thanks for reading, and I’d really appreciate any thoughts 🙏

About
Swipe Contacts Cleaner started from a very personal problem. My wife had over 3,000 contacts on her iPhone and completely gave up trying to clean them manually. The built-in Contacts app makes this process slow, tedious

Congrats on the launch, looks solid. How are you currently thinking about acquiring early users and gathering feedback?
Congrats on the launch of Swipe - Contacts Cleaner!
Cleaning up an address book is one of those tasks everyone avoids because of how tedious it is—turning it into a simple swipe-based gesture is a brilliant way to solve that friction. The UI looks super clean and intuitive.
You should definitely consider featuring it on Startupily. It’s a great platform for getting this kind of utility in front of a larger audience of early adopters and founders who are always looking for tools to optimize their workflows. It could be a solid way to drive more downloads and boost your brand awareness right out of the gate.
Keep up the great work!
You’re absolutely right, cleaning contacts is one of those tasks people keep postponing because it feels unnecessarily tedious. Turning it into a simple swipe-based flow was exactly the goal.
Thanks for the suggestion about Startupily as well — I wasn’t aware of it, but it sounds like a great fit for this kind of utility. I’ll definitely check it out.
Really appreciate you taking the time to share feedback and ideas!
My pleasure, keep up the great work.
