January 12, 2024 Re building again

I started building SwishFolio in 2017, but I lost focus somewhere in between, I've spent countless hours building other peoples dreams as a freelancer at Toptal, now I think I owe it to myself to build for myself.
I was thinking about building my personal portfolio, but thought it'll be better if I share this with the world.
So far I've;

  • Built the homepage
  • Pricing page
  • uploaded some it on https://swishfolio.com/
  • I have membership, payments & all backend integration done (used WP multisite so most of my work is cut out)
  • Write this post :)

Next:

  • build my personal site & use that as the first template
  • Build two more templates in January
  • Talk to a few designer & developer friends & offer them a free try out for a year
  • set up a new twitter account for updates while building in public

August 5, 2017 First MVP

I came up with the first MVP a month or two after the initial idea, this MVP will never live to see the light of day as it rotted away in the repo.
I was built using Ruby on Rails and JS, it was buggy, I couldn't figure out how to create a multi-tenancy app, I had issues with payment integrations. Just lots of technical difficulties.

June 21, 2017 Came up with the Idea

I came up with the idea when I was selling WordPress themes & plugins for portfolio websites.
I realised that creatives don't like setting up technical stuff like WordPress, then search for the right theme & plugins. So I decided to fix this.
PS: I figured this out from the tech support that I run for my themes business.
