Sympl

During the month of March, I decided that I wanted to start teaching coding videos online as a way to provide value to the community. For that reason, I decided to start a Youtube Channel where I can post up videos of what I've learned in order for other people to benefit from it as well.

By the end of March, I was able to complete my first tutorials series. I am now starting a new series, "How to Build an App For Beginners."

With the beta approved, and some changes to my original product, I decided to finally update the landing page for https://madesympl.com/

Now the landing page includes some basic screenshots and an invite to be part of the community of beta testers.

Small progress, but now with an MVP, a scrappy landing page, now it's time to get some initial users.

I've always heard that the best problems to solve are the ones that you observe and experience yourself.

I've always had a passion for learning and creating, and this led me to start thinking about the problems I experience when learning new skills. And one thing I've found, is that the most helpful medium to use is videos. I learn a lot from videos.

I conducted user interviews throughout my campus and found that many others share the same problem as well.

So this led me to the idea of Sympl!

Sympl is a learning platform where people can learn from short videos and other short form content.

It took 3 weeks, but I'm finally done building the minimum viable product for Sympl. With a full time job as a software engineer and a part-time teacher, I was only able to work on the product nights and weekends. It's a struggle, sometimes I wish I had more time.

I built the whole thing as an iOS since that's what interests me the most, and I believe more people are learning on their phones than ever. I'm also more familiar with Swift.

Apple has approved my app for beta testing, so I'm excited to start talking to users and getting feedback!
