Syncify
Social podcast app - listen in sync with your friends
Found our CTO on Indie Hackers 💖
Becoming business partners with someone you don't know in a different country a little worrying. But just as much of a risk for him. We've done what we can to find out about personalities and goals and appear to be aligned. Exciting to kick things off and see what happens.
Startups are for taking risks after all.
Started complete re-write of our codebase to make an actually good app that people can use and things.
After updating the website we made a short video of my cofounder which he posted on instagram.
He said what the project was and asked for help form his 1000 followers (not exactly an influencer)
We had 35 shares and over 4000 views in the first 24 hours and broke our 200 sign up milestone

Spoke with Techstars team who loved the idea and encouraged me to enter the next batch.
Wrote up the idea and secured cofounders to turn the idea into a business.
Had a great reception to our application and interview with the team and waiting to hear back End of May start of June...

Entered the 'Hack the press' hackathon with the idea.
Built a basic prototype web player with 3 dummy users. Each user could see what other users had listened to or were listening to.
They could listen to the same thing live or catch up with another user on the same podcasts

Built a set of playlists on spotify and trialed the idea.
Skiing with friends we would choose a playlist we had all downloaded and hit play at the exact same time.
It was awesome partying on the slopes and dancing to teh same beat at either end of the slope.

I had this idea a long time ago whilst thinking about music and being able to listen to the same things as my friends in a private radio.
I thought it would be awesome to have 'silent disco' houseparties where you could listen to different channels with friends and not all listen to the same shit DJ if you didn't want to.
