SynDiary
Your Personal Data Hub
We originally made this short video for the demo version of SynDiary. Some screens may look different today, but the idea behind it is still the same: bringing the scattered pieces of your personal data together and keeping them under your control.
Since this demo, SynDiary has grown into Version 1.0 our Core.
Core now includes:
• Calendar synchronisation
• Facebook and Instagram archive import
• Voice recording with multilingual transcription
• Optional Local AI
• Entries connected to people, places, organisations and media
• A structured personal timeline
• Encrypted, local-first storage on your device
And we are continuing to build.
Our next major step is Projects: a way to bring selected information together around something meaningful. My own example will be My Legacy: combining memories, old diaries, voice recordings and personal archives into something I can eventually leave for my grandchildren.
But first, we’re looking for curious people who would like to try SynDiary Core and tell us honestly what works, what is unclear and what they would like to do with their own data.

A little update from us.
We’re two co-founders building SynDiary, and after a long period of developing and testing, the Core version is now out.
At this stage, I’m actually less interested in getting a huge number of downloads and much more interested in finding the first group of people who really get what we’re trying to build.
SynDiary is a private personal data hub where you can bring together different parts of your life : entries, calendar events, voice recordings and transcripts, people, places, social media archives and more , while keeping your data under your control.
The Core app is currently free.
What we’re looking for now are curious early users who are willing to actually try it, play with it, maybe break something 😄 and tell us:
What makes sense?
What doesn’t?
What would make you keep using it?
And most importantly - what would you want to do with your personal data once it is all in one place?
That feedback matters a lot because we’re already working on the next bigger part of SynDiary: Projects, which we see as a Pro/paid feature.
The idea is that instead of just collecting information, you’ll be able to use your data to build anything with your personal data: a legacy, a book, research, a family history, a long-term project, or something we haven’t even thought of yet.
I’m currently using the idea myself for a “My Legacy” project, bringing together old diaries, memories, voice recordings and other pieces of my life that are scattered across different places.
But before we decide too much ourselves, we want to hear from actual users.

After months of building, testing and improving, we launched SynDiary Version 1.0 this week for iOS and Android.
The idea behind SynDiary came from something we kept noticing: our personal data is scattered everywhere.
Our calendars contain our events. Social media holds years of memories. Our phones contain photos and recordings. Notes live in different apps. Yet there is rarely one private place where we can bring this information together, organize it, and actually use it for ourselves.
That is what we are trying to build with SynDiary - a private personal data hub.
Version 1.0 currently lets users bring together things such as:
• basic and structured entries
• calendar events
• photos and media
• audio recordings with multilingual speech-to-text
• people and personal entities
• Instagram and Facebook archive data
Privacy is a core part of the product. SynDiary is designed to be local-first, with users keeping control of their own data. AI is optional and can run locally on supported devices.
We are still at the very beginning, and right now feedback is more valuable to us than promotion.
I would especially love to know:
When you hear “private personal data hub,” is it immediately clear what the product is?

The local-first approach is the strongest part, especially for a product aggregating such personal information. “Private personal data hub” is understandable, but I’d be curious whether users immediately understand what they can actually do with all that data once it’s brought together.

Thank you ! this is exactly the point we’re working on communicating better. Local-first and privacy are the foundation, but the real value comes from what becomes possible once your personal data is brought together and structured. Most people have years of data spread across calendars, social media, photos, notes, recordings and other services, but it’s difficult to actually use it for themselves. With SynDiary, we want to make that journey understandable step by step: first collect and protect your data, then organize and connect it, and gradually make it searchable, understandable and useful in your own interests. We’ll be showing much more of these practical use cases as we go.
