March 23, 2026 I built a SaaS for Dutch freelancers from the Canary Islands

I'm Cuban, living in Canarias, Spain. My Dutch partner introduced me to the ZZP market — Dutch independent freelancers who struggle with admin overhead every day. I started building Taakly with AI-assisted development. No external funding, just two people and a clear problem. We launched on March 2, 2026. The core insight: most tools are accounting software that added time tracking. We built a work management tool that added invoicing. What makes it different: - Retainer management with visual consumption tracking - Client health scoring - Unbilled hours alerts - Chrome extension - iDEAL & SEPA for European payments Still early but growing. Happy to answer questions.

This is really cool! I love that you flipped the usual approach, building a work management tool that adds invoicing instead of the other way around. The retainer tracking and client health scoring features sound especially useful for freelancers juggling multiple clients.

Curious: how are you getting your first users and validating which features are most valuable? Are Dutch freelancers responding well to the AI-assisted parts?

About

Freelancers waste hours every month switching between tools just to track time, send invoices and manage retainer contracts. Taakly puts everything in one place so they can focus on their actual work.
