Just launched tab.tools!

I just release the initial version of tab.tools! It's a site with a collection of useful tools I use everyday to solve simple tasks.

There are multiple sites like this today, but they're all bloated, slow, ad ridden and their privacy approach is sketchy at best. tab.tools is built to be incredibly fast and privacy friendly. The site is statically generated and no data ever leaves you browser.

Today there are 12 tools:

  • Base64 Encoder/Decoder
  • HTML Encoder/Decoder
  • Image Generator
  • Image to base64
  • Javascript Transformer
  • JSON Formatter
  • JWT Inspector
  • Password Generator
  • Regex Search/Replace
  • String Inspector
  • URL Encoder/Decoder
  • UUID Generator

I want to focus on tools that help anyone working with applications solve all the tiny problems that bubble up everyday. Do you have a tool you would like to see on tab.tools?

Simple yet interesting approach. Could you provide a few examples of other sites similar to this? I just wanna check them out to compare and see how this beats them in simplicity. Thank you!

I'm not the OP and this isn't my site, but I do follow the creator of them so keep seeing them mentioned. https://onlinetools.com/ – they seem to have quite a similar approach. The tab.tools design is more minimal and modern and it feels slightly faster, and I think more things like this need to exist, so good work.

Some of the worst ones I found now by googling "decode html entities", "format json" and "image to base64" are:

The goal with tab.tools is to make a tools site people actually want to use and want to bookmark/remember.

        Interesting, thanks for the input.

Are you planning to make this a SaaS/micro SaaS or keep it simple and free, as is? If the former, then I should ask, are you interested in a co-founder? I like the idea and I already thought about several ways of improving and expanding on it.

Thanks, but I'm looking to keep it free for now.
