Sorry for the seven week delay, the notification only reached me today. You're right, and it's the most useful note we've had on this. The dissatisfaction we replace is this: you write something down and then never see it again. It sits in Notes or Stickies or a text file, and it only helps if you remember it exists and go looking for it. Usually you don't. Most notes stop being useful about a day after they're written. So the switch isn't from a note app. It's from writing things down and losing them. We attach a note to the thing it's about, a window, a document, a browser tab, an email, and it comes back when you do. You don't retrieve it. Worth mentioning that you commented the day 1.1.0 shipped, and nearly everything since has gone into making that hold rather than adding surface. Reminders now arrive as real macOS notifications, so a note reaches you even when TackNote is closed and waits in Notification Center until you deal with it. Notes that end up off screen can be pulled back with Find Lost Notes. Carrying a note to a new window keeps it visible the whole way across. A note tacked to an email opens that exact message. There's also on-device screen capture that reads text off your screen into a note, and inline math, so typing 12.50 + 4.75 gives you the answer in place. "The note comes back" is the entire product, so that's where the work went. Whether that's worth switching for depends on how much losing notes actually costs you. For plenty of people it doesn't.
