After screening over a hundred applications, chatting/emailing a couple of dozen, and interviewing a handful of candidates, we ended up hiring Kadir, our first engineering hire, as an engineering intern.

Kadir is an MSc candidate at EPFL, and he is helping us scale our systems to deliver good-quality stories and do it reliably.

We've made our very first sale on TaleBot! 🎉🎉

A parent found value in our AI-powered storytelling service and purchased two stories for a total of $5.98. After transaction fees, we netted a profit of $5.20. While these numbers might seem small, they represent a significant milestone for our young venture. This first sale validates that there is indeed a market for our product, and more importantly, it has instilled a newfound sense of motivation and determination in our team.

Our mission at TaleBot has always been to create an enjoyable storytelling experience for parents and children alike. We aim to spark imagination, teach important values, and create lasting memories. Once upon a time, my co-founder Kaan and I, both parents to eager preschoolers, found ourselves engrossed in an interesting activity. We were using ChatGPT and other AI tools to weave bedtime stories for our kids. It was a humble attempt to capture their imagination and make bedtime more enjoyable. But, in our individual endeavors, we didn't know the other was doing the exact same thing!

I will never forget the sparkle in my daughter's eyes as she listened, enraptured, to the stories I had crafted for her. Seeing her excitement, I realized the potential of this endeavor and decided to put my "bedtime stories for kids" project to the test. I launched it in Turkish, my native language, and the response was beyond my wildest dreams. Almost immediately, I received close to 300 story inquiries!

This overwhelming response caught the attention of a mutual friend who, aware of Kaan's similar pursuits, decided to connect us. It was serendipity in its purest form! The connection sparked instant camaraderie as we discovered our shared passion for creating engaging bedtime stories with AI.

Inspired by the positive reception of the Turkish project, we started brainstorming ways to take this idea global, to scale it in English. And thus, we teamed up to start thinking about TaleBot.
