February 10, 2026 Launching on Product Hunt

Talesmyth is live on Product Hunt today – here's what changed since I posted here

A few months back I shared Talesmyth here when it was still rough around the edges. Today we're launching on Product Hunt and I wanted to give you all an update on what's actually working (and what isn't).

What I've learned since the first post

  • GMs are the power users: I thought writers and GMs would use it equally, but tabletop users are creating 3-5x more entities and using session planning way more than I expected

  • Auto-linking is the killer feature: The thing people mention most in feedback is how characters/locations link automatically when typing saves hours of wiki-style manual linking

What I need help with

Honestly, pricing. I'm planning free tier (3 worlds, 10 Tales per world, free monthly credits to purchase more worlds or use AI/premium features) + paid ($8-12/mo for unlimited). Does that sound reasonable for something you yould use weekly to prep D&D sessions or outline novels? Or should I go higher/lower?

Appreciate any thoughts, and if you upvote today, thank you!

December 22, 2025 Solo Dev Life: The Trust-Building Update

Shipping Talesmyth v1.5 reminded me why solo dev is hard:

Fixing a bug where moving content could make it disappear
was more important than adding any new feature.

Stability work isn’t exciting — but it earns user trust.

Public beta continues.

November 25, 2025 Launching Talesmyth – a home for your worlds, characters, and stories

Hey Indie Hackers 👋

I’ve just opened up the public beta of Talesmyth, a tool for worldbuilding and story planning for writers, GMs, and game designers, and I’d love your feedback.

---

The problem

Every time I tried to write stories or plan campaigns, my world ended up scattered across:

- Google Docs

- Random notes

- Spreadsheets

- Half‑forgotten files

That works for a while, but over time it becomes hard to answer basic questions like:

- “What actually happened last session?”

- “Which version of this character is canon?”

- “Where did I put that cool idea for this location/faction?”

Most tools I found were either:

- Too generic (just notes, no sense of worlds/characters/plots), or

- Overly AI‑driven, trying to write everything for you instead of helping you think.

I wanted something in between.

---

What Talesmyth does

Talesmyth gives you a single place to manage your creative worlds:

- Structured worlds

Create worlds with linked characters, locations, items, factions, and notes, so you can see how everything fits together.

- Story / session planning

Use simple planning templates to outline chapters, short stories, or TTRPG sessions without starting from a blank page.

- AI as a helper, not a replacement

AI is there to support your creativity:

- Generate a starting point for new characters and locations from a short description

- Turn your notes into session or chapter summaries you can quickly review later

You stay in control of the story. Talesmyth uses AI to assist your worldbuilding, not replace your imagination.

You can try it here: https://www.talesmyth.com

Who it’s for

- Writers (novels, novellas, short stories, scripts)

- TTRPG GMs running ongoing campaigns

- Game designers building worlds, factions, and lore

- Anyone who just enjoys building worlds and characters for fun

---

Stage and what I’m looking for

I’m a solo dev and Talesmyth is currently in public beta. It’s stable enough to use for real projects, but I expect rough edges.

I’d love feedback from the IH community on:

- The core UX – where do you get stuck or confused?

- The positioning – does the “writers + GMs + game designers” angle make sense, or should I narrow the focus?

- Any thoughts on what would make this a tool you’d actually use for your own creative projects

If you try it and something feels off (or breaks!), I’d really appreciate hearing about it in the comments or via email/DM.

Happy to answer any questions about the product or how I’ve been building it.

Congrats on the launch! If you ever need help improving your onboarding copy or explaining features more clearly, I’d be glad to assist.

About

I’m building Talesmyth because whenever I write stories or plan campaigns, my worlds end up scattered across docs and notes, multiple apps, and I want a dedicated home for them.
