February 5, 2026 Validating Talk2Post - Voice-to-LinkedIn AI (Pre-launch)

I'm validating an AI tool that turns spoken ideas into LinkedIn posts.

Goal: 150 emails before I write code

The insight: People don't struggle with IDEAS, they struggle with WRITING them down.

Looking for:

- Honest feedback on the concept

- Ideas for distribution channels

- Co-validation partners

Interesting concept — I agree with the core insight that the bottleneck isn’t ideas, it’s translation.

One question I’d explore during validation:
When does the friction actually happen?
    Is it:

    • capturing the idea in the moment, or

    • editing/polishing it into something “post-worthy”?

If it’s mostly the second, you might find that differentiation comes less from voice → text and more from how much rewriting the user still has to do afterward.

For distribution, my instinct would be:

    • founders and operators who already think out loud (voice notes, Loom, walking meetings)

    • people who post occasionally on LinkedIn, not daily creators (they feel the pain more)

Curious what early feedback you’re getting on how raw vs polished the output should be.

Joel - this is gold. Thank you 🙏

You nailed the friction point. It's actually BOTH:

      1. Capturing (people forget to capture ideas at all because they dread writing)

      2. Polishing (when they do capture, editing kills 30+ minutes)

Early feedback shows most struggle with #1 they never start because the writing feels like homework.

Re: your ICP breakdown podcasters is brilliant. I hadn't thought of that angle. They already think in spoken narratives.

Quick question: Do you think the value prop should be "capture ideas faster" or "turn expertise into content without writing"?

The second feels more outcome-focused but might be too broad.

      Curious your take!

Your ICP (people who are good speakers but struggle to write) hangs out in very specific places:

    1. **Podcast communities** — Podcasters are natural speakers who often want to repurpose content to LinkedIn. r/podcasting (160k), Facebook podcaster groups.

    2. **Coaching/consulting communities** — These folks do a lot of talking (client calls, workshops) and want to turn insights into content. r/lifecoaching, coaching Discords.

    3. **Creator economy spaces** — People building personal brands who struggle with the 'writing' part of content creation. Creator Economy Discord, Beehiiv communities.

    4. **Non-native English speakers on LinkedIn** — Huge market. Speaking is easier than writing in a second language. LinkedIn LATAM and APAC groups.

I've been doing AI-generated customer discovery briefs for pre-PMF founders like yourself — basically a weekly report on where your customers hang out, what they're complaining about, and specific threads to engage. If you want, I can put one together for Talk2Post as a sample. Might help you find those 150 emails.

      Great!
      Sound good! Let's do that

Hey! Sorry for the delay — got pulled into other projects.

        Here's a quick channel list for Talk2Post's ICP (voice-to-LinkedIn):

        **Where your customers hang out:**

        - r/podcasting, r/podcasts (active, lots of "how do I repurpose content" questions)

        - r/Entrepreneur, r/smallbusiness (coaches and creators)

        - Creator-focused Discord/Slack (Ali Abdaal, Justin Welsh communities)

        - Podcast newsletters (Podnews, HotPod)

        - LinkedIn Creator communities (actual power users)

        - Non-native English speaker forums (international business groups)

Want me to dig deeper into any of these? Happy to put together a detailed brief with specific pain points and vocabulary they use.

Quick question: if weekly briefs like this helped you find the right customers consistently, would that be worth ~$39/mo?

        1. 1

Actually, went ahead and did the full brief! Here's the summary:

**Reddit communities (with high engagement on this problem):**

          - r/linkedin (~150K) — Direct pain point discussions

          - r/podcasting (~700K) — Repurposing content discussions

          - r/Entrepreneur (~1.8M) — Coaches/consultants building brands

          - r/smallbusiness (~1.5M) — "LinkedIn feels like a second job" threads

          - r/SaaS (~200K) — Founders building in public

          **Verbatim pain points I found:**

          - "Every week it's the same cycle: stare at blank screen, scroll for inspiration, panic-write something at 11 PM"

          - "They have the expertise but hate the content hamster wheel"

          - "Spending 45+ minutes crafting each LinkedIn post"

          - "The blank page problem — feels like homework"

**Key vocabulary:** "content hamster wheel", "blank page problem", "panic-write", "feels like a fraud" (visibility paradox)

**Competitors:** Post Genie (very similar positioning), EasyGen, Taplio, Supergrow — but most are text-input, not voice-first

**Your differentiator:** "For people who think by talking, not typing"

I've got 5 specific Reddit threads ready to engage + Discord/Slack communities where your ICP hangs out.

Happy to share the full brief via email if you want the details. Drop me your email or DM and I'll send it over!

Congratulations on your launch. It looks impressive! What channels are you exploring to attract early users?

    1. 1

      Thanks!!
Normaly, LinkedIn and Producthunt for that time.

Could you recomend me other platforms ?

      1. 1

LinkedIn and Product Hunt are excellent choices, particularly for gaining visibility and establishing early credibility.

Once you're ready, I highly recommend adding Reddit to your strategy, not for promotion, but as a means to test your positioning and gather honest feedback from those already discussing the problem you’re aiming to solve. The insights from Reddit can be much clearer compared to traditional social media feeds.

Additionally, forums like Indie Hackers can be beneficial, but Reddit often provides more unfiltered insights.

If you're interested, I can assist you in identifying the right subreddits and help plan a small, discussion-driven Reddit test that complements your efforts on LinkedIn and Product Hunt.

        1. 1

          For sure! i'm interested

          1. 1

            Awesome! 👍

To ensure this approach is useful and low-risk, I typically start with a small pilot on Reddit. Here's how I do it:

            - Identify the most relevant subreddits for your product.

            - Craft posts that prioritize discussion (focusing on feedback rather than promotion).

            - Handle the posting and engage with early comments.

This process helps validate your product positioning and gather genuine user insights before scaling up.

If that sounds good to you, I'll need a bit more context to tailor the strategy effectively:

            - Who is your ideal early user?

            - What are you hoping to achieve right now (feedback, signups, or awareness)?

            - What is your product or landing page link?

With this information, I can provide you with a detailed plan and the next steps.

            1. 1

              Landing page: talk2post dot com
              - ideal early user: Linkedin users but particularly professionnals an every body reconizing facing this problem
              - hoping to achieve feedback to really validate the idea

              1. 1

Thank you for sharing that information, it’s really helpful!

Since your target early users are LinkedIn professionals and your main goal is to gather feedback and validate ideas, I recommend focusing your Reddit approach on communities that discuss topics like posting anxiety, engagement struggles, and content consistency, rather than targeting “LinkedIn growth” directly.

I suggest starting with a small pilot that includes:

                - Selecting 2 to 3 relevant subreddits

                - Drafting 3 to 5 discussion-based posts centered around real posting challenges

                - Engaging with early comments to gather honest feedback and identify language patterns

The aim here is not to drive traffic volume, but to understand how people describe their issues and which perspectives resonate before scaling anything further.

If this approach works for you, I can run a short paid pilot and provide you with the details for your review and decision.

                1. 1

                  yeah, goooo !!!

                  1. 1

I keep the pilot intentionally lightweight, a one-time fee of $75, so founders can validate their ideas without committing to anything long-term.

                  2. 1

Let’s approach this properly and keep things simple. I propose starting with a small paid pilot focused solely on feedback and validation, rather than promotion. Here’s what I plan to deliver:

                    1. Research and select 2–3 highly relevant subreddits where professionals discuss topics related to posting anxiety, consistency, and visibility.

                    2. Create 3–5 discussion-first posts based on real struggles people face with LinkedIn posting.

                    3. Handle the posting and actively engage with comments to gather clear feedback and insights on wording.

                    4. Provide a summary of what resonated with users, any objections raised, and how people describe the problem in their own words.

This approach offers you concrete validation signals that can help refine your messaging and product direction before implementing any growth strategies.

The pilot is low-commitment and short-term, so you won’t be locked into anything long-term. If it proves successful, we can then decide how (or if) to scale it.

If you’re on board with this, I can send over the following details for your review:

                    - The pilot scope

                    - Timeline

                    - Pricing

Once you’ve had a chance to look it over, you can give a quick thumbs-up, and we can move forward.

                    Does that sound good? 👍

                    1. 1

                      Alright! Let's see.

About

Talk2Post exists because I got tired of my best insights dying in my drafts folder. If speaking preserves authenticity better than typing, why not just... speak?
