October 1, 2022 Early Growth

In August and September I began sharing the app on social media (mainly on Twitter and Reddit). The app quickly gained users. A majority of my users at this point were fantasy football leagues, recruiters, and academics. By October, 258 polls had been created and almost 800 people participated in those polls.

July 14, 2022 Launched V1

In just 2 weeks, I built the MVP in Bubble, with the goal of providing a product that offered a quick, easy, and simple solution to schedule group meetings. No registration required to use the product. On day 1, I started using it myself, and shared the link with friends.

The plan was to keep a majority of the features free. Since it is a poll product that gets sent around to many people, it made sense to use the freemium business model for simple marketing and growth. Later down the road, I would add premium features for users to upgrade to if they had the need.

July 1, 2022 Started building TallyCal

I've always needed to schedule meetings and events within both my professional and social networks. Over the years, my method had changed many times from using emails, apps, text messages, etc...

Several existing solutions existed, but they were not great. They were typically cluttered with ads, displayed a bad UI (sometimes impossible to use on mobile), and missing features that I valued.

With over 15 years of building side projects, and almost 7 years of experience building nocode apps with Bubble, I decided to launch a new project to solve my issue. I started building the web app with Bubble and found the perfect domain, TallyCal.com.

Finding a meeting date that works best for a group is difficult. Back and forth emails are messy and hard to keep up with. I needed a simple solution to solve this problem.
