TasteOS

Your taste, decoded by AI

December 11, 2025 I built TasteOS — an AI that learns your actual taste from your real meals. Looking for honest feedback + early users.

Hey IH 👋 I’m Brady — designer, founder, and lifelong launcher of too many projects.
This time I built something I really believe in.

For the past few months I’ve been experimenting with a question:

Why are recipe apps so bad at recommending food you’ll actually enjoy?

They all work the same way: scrape the internet → remix generic recipes → call it “personalization.”

But your taste isn’t generic.
And mine definitely isn’t.

So I built something different.

🍽️ Introducing TasteOS

TasteOS is an AI food platform that learns your real taste from the meals you actually eat.

Not from trends.
Not from internet recipes.
From your food.

What TasteOS can do right now:

  • Upload a photo of your meal → TasteOS learns your flavor preferences

  • Get recipes based on your personal taste profile

  • Snap a picture of your fridge → get recipes using only what’s available (“Cook With What You Have”)

  • Paste messy ingredient lists → AI cleans them up + generates meals

  • Try it instantly with 3 free guest recipes (no login)

🧠 Tech Stack / How I built it

TasteOS is built entirely using:

  • Lovable (no-code/AI builder)

  • AI image/ingredient detection

  • My own UX/product design patterns + experimentation

  • Some surprisingly hacky prompt engineering 😂

Everything you see — the UI, flows, onboarding, homepage — was built from scratch and iterated super fast through AI tools.

💬 The challenge I’m hitting right now

I can’t get real users.

Friends/family don’t count (or they’re sick of me launching things lol).
Traffic trickles in, but conversions are extremely low.

I think:

  • I might be speaking to the wrong audience

  • Or the value prop isn’t clear enough

  • Or maybe onboarding needs more hand-holding

  • Or maybe people don’t trust AI with food yet

  • Or all of the above

I’m bootstrapping this, so every test matters.

🙏 What I’m hoping to learn from IH

If you have 10–20 seconds, I’d genuinely love your thoughts:

  1. Does the homepage make sense?

  2. Do you trust AI to suggest food based on your photos?

  3. Where does the onboarding flow lose you?

  4. Would you use this if it worked perfectly? Why/why not?

  5. Any obvious UX or growth opportunities I’m missing?

Early IH feedback has shaped so many successful products — I’d love for TasteOS to be one of them.

About

i’m building TasteOS because i wanted a food app that actually knows me. not trends, not generic recipes — me. ai finally makes that possible. it exists because i kept wondering why personalization stops at playlists and
