Someone on Twitter earlier singled me and few others out for having great apps but bad landing pages.
I'm curious about what is so bad about my landing page compared to the app, please let me know if you spot anything you'd improve.

My first user's trial came to an end and they decided to pay. This was the first time I had made any money online with a subscription product and the feeling was unbelievable.
The user in question actually messaged me a couple of days beforehand saying they were going to continue using the product and they also gave me some excellent feedback. The dream early adopter!
Tatask (Tree based task management) went live on October 5th. I had been using it myself since the beginning but had been too scared to publicise it at all so it had sat on a development server for weeks.
I wrote a quick tweet to my meager ~130 followers and then went home to make dinner. By the time I was home I had my first user signed up to a free trial (CC upfront!)

Tip - when doing content marketing, always include what it is and what it does.

Whenever you talk about your company, mention what it does and why if you can.
I see so many emails or tweets like 'We launched ProductX!' and no one has any idea what it does.
If you say 'We launched ProductX to help you lose weight!' people can get interested.

Tatask has been an idea in my mind for many years that I didn't think I had the technical skills to bring to fruition.
Having learned alpine.js in an afternoon to use on another project (Scriffer), I realised that building Tatask would only take a weekend to build an MVP.
Tatask is built using Alpine.js, Tailwind, Firebase and cloudflare hosting.

I like the hero section, it caught my interest and made me want to learn more about your app. Overall the website has a modern, minimalist design which I like!

Thank you for your feedback, that's really helpful. I definitely agree with changing illustrations to screenshots, I think I might even make them into gifs showing product functionality in motion.
As someone who never uses them I didn't realise that people wanted scrollbars, is that a big usability issue?
That's a little experiment as I thought it nicely leads the eye down the page and adds some visual interest, I'm not certain about it though so thanks for sharing your opinion.

That's a great idea about using gifs to showcase the product in action. Would be an excellent way to showcase the various features available!
As for the scrollbars, I usually prefer navigating through websites with the scrollbar most times, and for moving from section to section.
For instance, if I've taken a look at the landing page and want to move to a pricing table (which is towards the end of the page), I would prefer to use the scrollbar for this. But that's just my personal preference that being said. Might be useful to conduct a poll on this, or get more opinions to see what the general opinion on this is. More users may prefer a scrollbar than expected, for instance.
