Personal stories from people in tech
Grew my twitter following 300% in the last 24 hours π.
But it's great to get started on this journey from nothing and see how I can grow the audience over time.
No big launches, no existing audience, I'm just going to grind hard and grow my following from the ground up.
Next stop at 100 followers.
I worked hard this week, doing over 14 interviews, transcribing and editing them. I designed and built the website in 2 days.
Having deadlines really makes you get efficient, I ended up cutting some functionality to get it shipped in time.
I didn't do a big launch, since I rather grow the audience slowly and organically. Will probably do a big launch later when I have much more stories on the website.

After my third existential crisis of the year, I decided that I was going to work on projects that I actually enjoyed, instead of the ones that seemed like the best business ideas.
This project seemed like pure art, and not a business at all, but I justified it by saying it would at least help me meet more tech people, which might be useful for business at some point.
That was really just an excuse to work on a cool project that I loved, but it was a good enough reason in my mind. So I officially committed to it.

I was working on other projects at the time, and then I had a month-long existential crisis. During the crisis, I was thinking more about working on projects that I cared about that didn't necessarily have business value.
I knew that I loved the idea of sharing different perspectives on things. I realized the easiest people to get in contact with would be tech people, and that the tech community could probably benefit from exposure to people from different backgrounds.
However, in the end, the project was shelved because I needed to work on a profitable business, not a fun side project.

At this point, the idea was very broad. I came up with a concept called "perspective based learning" where people would learn about social issues by reading different perspectives on them.
I thought it would be a better way to learn about things than reading a textbook with one biased view.
But it was just a rough idea, and I had no idea how that would become a business. So it was in the back of my mind.
