February 12, 2026 I Built a Temporary Email Tool to Reduce Spam. Here’s What I Learned.

When I started building Temp Mail ID, I didn’t expect how aggressive email collection has become.

Almost every website asks for email verification now. What looks like a simple signup often turns into months, sometimes years, of marketing emails and tracking.

At first, I built the tool for myself. I just wanted a cleaner inbox.

But while working on it, I noticed something interesting:

• Many platforms reuse email data far beyond the initial signup.

• Tracking pixels inside emails are more common than most users realize.

• People underestimate how exposed their primary inbox really is.

Temporary email isn’t a perfect solution, but it creates a buffer layer. It separates identity from access.

Building this made me rethink how casually we hand out our email addresses.

Curious how other founders think about email verification and data exposure.

Do you use temporary emails yourself?
