Templatery

The website was live & I finished implementing initial feedback from friends and colleagues.

Once that was done, I have quickly prepared some marketing material for ProductHunt and launched templatery. I had 0 expectations and I actually forgot about the launch, only later to find out (because I was tagged in a tweet) that it was trending and approaching #1.

The only piece of advice here is that you should ship sooner than you think. I was blown away to find out that people liked the small set of templates so much!

There were 2 parts to launching Templatery - creating the content and building the website.

Creating slides took most of the time. I have originally planned to launch with 20+ templates, but at the end I have realised this would take me several months to design because I also wanted the slides to be high quality. In the end I launched with 6 templates, every template took around 3 hours to create.

For website, I wanted something very easy to deploy and maintain. I have used Netlify, Gatsby and Prismic, which were excellent choices. The full website creation took something around 6 hours and is live on https://www.templatery.co/
