Ten Studios

A creator app studio. We build the app, you own it.

June 10, 2026 I studied how two creators turned their audience into an app they own (instead of another sponsorship). Here's the pattern.

Most creator income is rented. A sponsorship pays once and stops the day you stop posting. So I went looking for creators who'd done the opposite, turned their audience into a product they actually own, to see if there was a repeatable pattern. Two cases stood out.

Charlie Alvarez (tech creator, ~8M followers). He didn't build anything himself. He found a small, well-made AI expense app on the App Store, MonAi, around 600 downloads, built by a solo dev named Florian, and partnered with him. Charlie brings the audience, Florian keeps building. ~$300/mo became ~$12K within two months; the business now runs $40–60K/mo, and Charlie co-owns it.

Theo Browne (dev creator, ~500K subs). He's a senior engineer, so he built his own, T3 Chat, and launched it to the audience he already had. In two weeks it out-earned all his other products combined. It's now at seven-figure ARR, and unlike his content, it's a product he owns.

The pattern: a trusted audience plus a real owned product compounds in a way no brand deal does. The audience is the part money can't buy; the product is the part the audience can't build. Combine them under ownership (a revenue share, not a one-off post) and you get an asset that keeps earning, and one you can eventually sell.

The catch: almost no creator can do the Theo version (you'd need to be a senior engineer), and the Charlie version means getting lucky finding the right dev and structuring the deal yourself. The building and operating is the wall.

Full write-ups if useful: Charlie & MonAi · Theo & T3 Chat · and the broader case for owning vs renting your income.

(Disclosure: I'm building a studio in this space, ten studios, so I'm biased toward "creators should own apps." But the two cases above are real and public, and the pattern held up better than I expected when I dug in. Curious if anyone here has seen a creator pull this off a third way.)

About

We exist to empower creators to help their audiences in a deeper way: by turning the method they teach into an app people use every day to get real results. It's built and run by us, owned by the creator.
