AI booking system

April 9, 2026 I built an AI booking system for salons in Germany - here's what I learned

Hey IH! 👋

I'm Vladimir, solo founder from Schweinfurt, Germany. I built term-in.app - an AI-powered booking system for hair salons and beauty studios.

## The Problem

70% of salons in Germany still rely on phone calls and paper calendars. Meanwhile, 63% of booking attempts happen outside business hours - evenings, weekends, holidays. Those customers don't leave a voicemail. They book with a competitor.

On top of that: the average salon loses €2,400/month to no-shows. Customers simply forget their appointments.

## My Solution

Instead of clunky calendar widgets where customers click through 5 steps, they just type:

"Tomorrow 3pm haircut with Anna"

The AI understands it and books in 2 seconds. Like texting a friend.

Plus:

- Automatic SMS reminders 24h before (reduces no-shows by 67%)

- Automated Google review requests after each visit

- Full dashboard with analytics and CRM

## Tech Stack

- Next.js + TypeScript

- Supabase (PostgreSQL, EU servers)

- Groq AI (Llama 3.3 70B) for natural language understanding

- Twilio for SMS

- Stripe for subscriptions

- Hetzner VPS + Cloudflare

## Why Germany?

The DACH market (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) is underserved. The biggest competitor (Shore) charges €40-120/month with a 12-month contract. I offer the same core features starting at €29/month with no contract, plus AI booking that nobody else has.

GDPR compliance is a must here — EU servers, cookie consent, local fonts, the whole package. I built it in from day one, not as an afterthought.

## Business Model

- Pro: €29/month (solo salons)

- Business: €79/month (multi-staff)

- Enterprise: €499/month (done-for-you: website + ads + SEO)

The Enterprise tier is where the real money is. One client pays more than 17 Pro clients.

## Free Tools as Lead Magnets

I built two free tools:

1. check.term-in.app — analyzes a salon's digital presence in 60 seconds (website speed, mobile, reviews, booking, SEO)

2. dsgvo.web-skyline.com — scans any website for GDPR violations

Both free, no signup. They build trust and feed into an email sequence that nurtures leads toward paid plans.

## Current Status

- Pre-revenue, just launched

- SEO content live across 3 domains

- 15 backlinks from Capterra, G2, Yelp, Medium, LinkedIn

- Google Business profile active

- Email automation being set up

- Waiting for first organic traffic

## Challenges

1. No phone sales. My spoken German isn't strong enough for cold calls. So everything is built around written communication - chat, email, WhatsApp, Loom videos. This actually resonates with salon owners who hate being interrupted by sales calls.

2. Zero social proof. No customers yet = no testimonials = low trust. My plan: offer 3 local salons a free month in exchange for honest reviews on Google and Capterra.

3. Competing against established players with 10,000+ customers. My edge: AI booking (nobody has it), lower price, no contracts.

## What's Next

- First 3 customers (local outreach this week)

- Google Ads with €400 credit

- Email automation (5-email nurture sequence)

- Target: €1,000 MRR by July 2026

## Ask

Would love feedback from anyone who's built B2B SaaS for a local/traditional industry. How did you get your first customers when the target audience isn't very online?

About

70% of salons in Germany still use paper calendars. Customers want to book at 11pm - but the salon is closed. I built term-in: AI chat that books appointments in 2 seconds.
