TermOnMac
Control your Mac terminal from your iPhone
I'm a solo indie developer and I just shipped my first iOS app after months of building.
What it does: TermOnMac connects your iPhone to your Mac terminal over an E2E encrypted relay. No SSH setup, no port forwarding — just scan a QR code and you're connected.
Why I built it: I kept needing terminal access while away from my desk. Existing SSH clients all require key management and network config. I wanted a 30-second setup.
Key features:
QR code pairing — zero configuration
- Remote Xcode build, archive, and App Store upload
- E2E encrypted (Curve25519 + AES-256-GCM)
- Auto-reconnect with terminal history replay
Tech stack: SwiftUI, Cloudflare Workers + Durable Objects, Apple CryptoKit
Business model: Freemium — Free / Pro $0.99/mo / Premium $2.99/mo. Relay infrastructure cost is ~$0.50/user/month on Cloudflare Workers.
Current status: Just launched on the App Store. Working on getting the first users and feedback.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6759218342

Would love feedback from other indie hackers — especially on pricing and positioning.

Nice launch. For pricing, I’d test one clearer paid tier before splitting Pro/Premium this early. The promise feels strongest around “30-second secure terminal access from your phone,” so I’d make the free tier prove pairing works, then put history replay / Xcode workflows / heavier relay usage behind paid. Also worth showing the relay cost math on the site because devs will immediately wonder how the infra stays sustainable.
