Three months ago I was in a fight with my best friend. Not a big one — I forgot his birthday, again — but big enough that a text saying "sorry bro" wasn't going to cut it. I sat there staring at my phone, typing and deleting the same three words, when a dumb thought hit me: what if I just said sorry a hundred times and sent him the screenshot?

So I did. I opened a notes app, typed "Sorry" a hundred times, took a screenshot, and sent it. He laughed. He forgave me. And more importantly, my dev brain wouldn't let it go — this could be a tiny website.

That night I built the first version of Sorry100Times.in in about two hours. You type a name (or leave it blank), hit generate, and it spits out a page that says "Sorry, [Name]" one hundred times in a scrolling, slightly chaotic wall of text — shareable as a link or a downloadable image. No login, no ads on the first screen, no friction. Just an absurd, oddly sincere apology generator.

I posted it in a college WhatsApp group as a joke. By the next morning, eleven people had used it. Not because it's clever — it's not — but because apologizing is awkward, and this gives people a low-stakes, slightly funny way to open the door. A guy used it to apologize to his girlfriend for missing an anniversary. A manager used it (half-jokingly) to apologize to her team for a rough sprint. Someone used it to apologize to their cat for moving apartments, which honestly might be my favorite use case so far.

That's when it clicked for me: this isn't really an "apology tool." It's a social icebreaker for uncomfortable moments. The 100x repetition does the emotional heavy lifting so the person doesn't have to find the perfect words — the effort is the apology.

Since then I've added:

Custom messages instead of just "Sorry" (so you can say sorry 100 times for something specific)
A shareable image export for Instagram/WhatsApp status
A "roast me back" mode where the recipient can reply with their own 100x message

No monetization yet. No grand vision of a SaaS empire. Right now it's just a weird, useful little corner of the internet that makes an awkward human moment 10% easier — and that's honestly enough for me to keep building on it.

The interesting part isn't repeating "sorry" 100 times—it's lowering the emotional barrier to starting an uncomfortable conversation. I'd keep validating whether people are sharing it because it's funny or because it genuinely helps them repair relationships. Those are very different products.
