Unlimited-use, music instrumental licensing for creators.

November 11, 2018 The Process

The goal is to put together a system where creators can use creative common licensed tracks for their videos, music, whatever.

Now that the system is put together, it's time to market. Lets review the system:

  • Instrumental tracks are created in Logic Pro X and bounced into a Dropbox Folder.

  • I re-review each of the instrumentals and create ~1 min loops from the tracks.

  • I place the full tracks into the $20/mo folder. Loops are placed into the $5/mo loops folder.

When people sign up, they can take one of three roads:

Free:
The potential customer finds the website, looks things over. Still on the fence, but want to try it out. The user could then sign up for free beats via email updates.

$5/mo or $20/mo:
The potential customer knows about my music and can afford the $5 or $20 at least for a month. The user subscribes via Paypal (for now) button on the site. I then add the customer's email address to the appropriate Dropbox folder.

The user can either login to the Dropbox folder via the web or download Dropbox and have the beats download to their computer.

Then once every few weeks, I'll add new beats to the loops, tracks and free Dropbox folders. An update email will go out to all three types of subscribers. Free members will get a link that will expire in a month. Paid members will be notified, and can find the new music in the Dropbox folder by sort by "Date Modified".

That's what I have for now. Now it's time to start marketing and getting customers to see if this system works.

About

I've always ran into creators such as business owners and musicians, who gets tired of dealing with complicated music licenses. I want to help make things simpler.
