May 10, 2020 Reached episode 33 and finally found my stride

I've been pretty quiet over the past few months, but have been quietly chipping away on the podcast front.

At the beginning of the year I decided to commit to releasing a weekly episode. This initially seemed pretty daunting, but consistency does seem to be paying off.

Both my listens and subscriber count have been regularly growing and I've also managed to attract several amazing guests to the show.

While monetisation still seems like a long shot (& was never the main aim of doing the podcast), I feel extremely proud of what I've created.

There was a point around the end of last year where I almost gave up. I'm SO glad I stuck with it.

February 17, 2020 Released episode 23!

So far I've been keeping to my 1 episode per week schedule and it seems to be paying off.

In this episode 23 I chat to Charlie Rogers, a final year student at Loughborough University. As a competitive runner, Charlie is used to taking a disciplined approach to training and achieving his goals.

We delve into his experiences of physical endurance and how he has taken lessons learned from training and applied them to setting up his business, Postey.

It seems that marathons and business have more in common than we think...

January 3, 2020 Launched The Brave newsletter!

As I'm working behind the scenes on Season 2, which kicks off in mid January, I've been reading so many interesting articles/books around the topic of resilience.

I do send out daily tweets covering the best things I've found, but it would be great to collate this information in a less transient format.

I know every person and their dog seems to have a newsletter these days... and apparently I am no exception now!

My plan is to send out a short, clear and informative newsletter each week collating my picks on resilience/grit/performance from around the web.

If nothing else, it will encourage me to read more and think critically about the content I'm consuming. Hopefully it also will help other people uncover useful and thought-provoking content on resilience from around the web.

October 19, 2019 Released episode 18

In this episode I speak to Helen Darlington, CEO of Woven, an award winning branding and design agency.

We chat about a lot of things, but the story really focuses on how Helen has built and grown a resilient business over the past 17 years.

We cover things like staying ahead in changing and challenging markets, staying determined when times get tough and how to reframe weaknesses as strengths.

We also chat about her experience of being a woman leading a business and whether gender has been a limiting factor (Helen has a really interesting view on this!)

October 10, 2019 20 reviews on Apple Podcasts 🚀

19 5* reviews and one 4* review - can't really complain about that.

I always include a CTA at the end of every episode for people to like and review the podcast. This does seem to drive reviews (alongside occasionally posting on twitter reminding people to like and review if they have listened).

Where do the majority of your subscribers come from?

I already have a reasonable social presence, so there and also I make sure my website is optimised for relevant queries, so there's some organic subs too.

January 1, 2019 Came up with the idea!

I actually came up with the idea for the podcast while in the shower on holiday during that weird bit in-between Christmas and New Years Day.

I'd been toying around with the idea of producing a podcast for a while and the focus on resilience felt extremely natural and interesting.

About

I started the podcast because I’m fascinated with the ideas of adaptability and robustness - in people, systems, the environment, businesses and well, anything that is trying to survive and thrive.
