The Leaderboard Challenge
A Social Experiment
After being busy with work and other things, I finally decided that it might be time to see whether this project could actually generate some revenues. I don't expect much, as the idea is really stupid but there are many examples of other similar projects that were able to find success.
I shared the projects with my friends and some were kind enough to participate in order to get some names on the leaderboard. It got shared by friends to their friends and we got a small local buzz going. I was surprised that people were really curious enough to follow through with a payment. Human psychology is a bitch

The project has been abandoned for some time but I felt the itch of working on a project again. I found it on my laptop and since it was almost done anyways, I decided to revisit it and give it another shot. Made some improvements and put it online.

After looking for some project ideas to work on, this popped up in my head and I started building it. A few weeks later, the project was done and ready to launch. However, the motivation to build was bigger than the motivation to launch it. In the end, the idea was a little stupid.

People do not act rational. The desire for belonging and social status makes us spend lots of money on things we really shouldn't spend that much money on. Within this social experiment we try to take this to the extreme
