The Personality Reveal

Some of my users complained that they wouldn't be able to save their results. Taking a screenshot was apparently not sufficient.

Today, I released a new version of the Personality Reveal. You can now save your results in a bookmark and refer to it later at any time!

You can now even share your results with your friends on social media and compare your personalities!

This was the first time I submitted something on producthunt. I wasn't even entirely sure how the process would work. But I was lucky enough that it got featured on the home page! It has been very exciting to monitor the page analytics and receive comments from people who have taken the test! I'm really happy I submitted to Producthunt!

I submitted the Personality Reveal to betabound.com to gain access to more beta users. Eventually, it got featured on the betabound website making it visible to thousands of potential beta users.

Even though I didn't get as much feedback as I expected, there was one guy who inspired me. He got in touch through Linkedin and shared his story with me. He said he used the Personality Reveal in a team building session as a ice breaker and it worked amazingly well. I'm really happy to came to know about his use case as I think this is a great application for the personality test.

I'm in the middle of the close beta phase and noticed that the test has been taken 100 times. I'm still in the process of reshaping some functionalities and learning from the beta feedback but people are mostly very happy with the accuracy of the results. Great motivation to continue!

I think it must have been some day in September, or even late August where I was actively looking for a side project to practice my new Javascript skills. I wanted to use Symanto's Psycholinguistic API in a website-like project but I wasn't entirely sure how exactly it should work. After a few discussions and brainstorming sessions with my girlfriend, we shaped the idea of the Personality Reveal, a personality test based on a person's writing. We did some research and found out that there is no other comparable personality test out there. That's when the idea was born.
