The Remote Clan
Community for Remote workers
Hey guys,
So, it all started as a side project called Remote Tools - a platform to discover remote-first products. I have already written about it and how it helped us gain 4 customers in a short period of time. Fast-forward about 2 years and we have Remote Clan, which simply put, is a community for remote workers.
Today, we decided that Remote Clan should be an open startup. The idea is not just to share our numbers in the open but also the thought process behind taking certain decisions. I hope to learn along the way and also believe this will help any others who are looking to build a community. So, I plan to document it at least once a week.
I will share my first post tomorrow and promise to make it as useful as possible!
About
We are Remote Work enthusiasts and felt that all remote communities were just job boards. Enter Remote Clan - a community for remote workers to build a strong career with the help of those who are pursuing the same goals

Awesome! I love companies that do this. What’s your current MRR? Are you displaying it on your website or doing it through a third party like Baremetrics?
Thanks! We started this as a non- monetary intiative. We do have a few thoughts in mind on how we would like to make money from it, but would like the community to grow first before going for it. I'll be sharing more details on all of this in regular posts each week.
For now, the numbers that we will share will be around number of users, traffic or anything else that would be relevant. My aim would be to report a problem in the open, suggest our solution in the open and share its efficacy later. Currently thinking of making a simple table etc. on our website itself.
Awesome! I'm also hoping to have revenue, roadmap and analytics all out in the open on Portabella. Be sure to post here as you reveal these things!
Wow, congrats on Portabella Alex. Look great - all the best!
