The Startup Book Club
A book club reading the books most recommended by techies.
...and growing. Now I'm hoping to have 10,000 members by the end of the year.
I've decided to continue releasing products that will appeal to the same market and see if they're interested in the book club too.

This is working okay, but not as well as I'd hoped.
Three weeks after its inception, I launched on Product Hunt.
It started slow and then suddenly shot to the top. (I think it was featured somewhere)
The idea seemed to really resonate with people in a way I hadn't thought it would. Anyway, it put some wind in my sails and I set my goal a little higher.
I'd initially hoped around 100 people would join before 2019. But now I was thinking a few thousand would be possible. While still a modest amount, the affiliate links would pay for a little more than dog food.

On November 16th I gave myself a silly challenge. I had three weeks to make a website that would generate enough revenue to feed my dog.
I decided to make a website that lists the books most recommended by startup founders and tech pioneers.
It was okay. But I really wanted to read the books, so I changed it into a book club. Now I'd have to read them. Plus, it meant people would regularly buy books through the site.

I wanted to read more but would never get round to it. So I started a book club, now I don't have an excuse. It's also nice to chat with all the members.
