The Zettelkasten Manual
The manual of a PKM system that lasts for a lifetime.
As a non-native English speaker who had never written a book before, I was amazed when I unintentionally completed a small book on Zettelkasten, a topic I had become passionate about.
When I first learned about Zettelkasten, I found the concept intriguing and decided to dive in, there wasn't much information available in English, and I found many misinterpretations online that were misleading people on important parts of the system, like the writing and organizing of notes.
Over the years, I became a devoted practitioner of Zettelkasten, experimenting with different ways of writing and organizing notes. As my collection of notes grew, my friends began to take notice of my diligence and suggested that I share my knowledge with others. Initially hesitant due to my limited experience in writing and English not being my first language, I continued to refine my Zettelkasten system, and I was amazed at the wealth of insights I had accumulated.
Eventually, I decided to take the plunge and write about Zettelkasten. While it was a challenging task, I was able to distill my knowledge into a concise and accessible guide for others, drawing from the treasure trove of insights and ideas in my own Zettelkasten.
Looking back, I am grateful for the power of Zettelkasten, which enabled me to become a published author despite my initial hesitations and limitations. It's a testament to the potential of the system, and I hope to continue sharing my knowledge and insights through my Zettelkasten for years to come.
About
I told my friends that what I was doing was inspired by Niklas Luhmann's Zettelkasten. They found it helpful and fascinating and suggested that I share it with more people. This is the result https://thezettelkasten.com
