EP 6 - Solving The Monetization Problem For DJs With Darrel Frater
Imagine waking up and all of your income being wiped out by COVID-19. That's what the majority of DJ's are facing today. At the same time, there is also an explosion of DJ's livestreaming on social platforms and entertaining millions of people as the shelter in place continued.
For us consumers, this was amazing but not so much for DJ's as they still could not earn a living on the internet and capture some of the value they are creating.
All this might soon change with my Darrel Fraters new app, In The Club, which let's DJ's not only live stream to millions of people but also earn money directly from their entertained listeners.
Kevin talks to Darrel Frater this week to explore the ins and outs of his newest app, "The Club". Darrel is the Founder and CEO of TheClub, a platform that is Bringing the Club Experience to Your House. He is a purebred entrepreneur and is dedicated to helping others pursue their passions through entrepreneurship.

After reaching out to a few local news outlets, one actually responded back to me and decided that they wanted to cover the story of my app launch. After a few days they gave me a call and I told them my story. This feature has led me to 3 podcast guest appearances already and a number of potential partnerships. Using the simple wix page I created and an integration with Vimeo Live API, we set up a lineup of 6 DJs to stream on the website.
Had a really great time listening to the DJ sets and interacting with other viewers.

Was watching DJs on Instagram live with my girlfriend and realized that the experience could be much better. We decided that there needs to be a platform specifically for this kind of content.
On this night, we bought the domain "InTheClub.app" and I began working on a Wix page as an MVP.
