MakerList
Curated feed of indie maker content.
So far MakerList.co has been growing slow but steady. Since I started the project I have acquired 12 signups and even sold a book through Amazon's affiliate program. Normally I would have set my sights on much higher numbers but I am learning to celebrate the little victories, even if theyre tiny. The site is growing, and I am happy for it. After launching I felt like there were some things that could have been done differently but I launched anyway because I knew I needed to validate the idea. I'm planning on doing more promotion and outreach over the next couple of days before iterating the idea.
First I would like to say that I'm just stoked to have made it this far. I've worked on plenty of side projects in the past, most of which remain incomplete. The difference here is that I have been purely focused on launching. MakerList only cost about $45 and 3 week for ideation, design, and development, early on in the process I set some strict goals and stuck with them.
With that being said I would like to introduce MakerList.co, its a curated collection of content created by some of the most notable Indie Makers. I built this because I started a list of Indie Hacker resources for myself, I thought of sharing it with the IH community but I hated the idea of floating around yet another shared document. I wanted to create something polished, recognizable, and most of all a product I could continue to develop. I truly want this to be a place where Makers can go to find guidance, inspiration, and knowledge throughout their own journey. I have a list of features that I personally think can be helpful but I would much rather hear from you guys, feel free to DM me on Twitter or MakerList.co/#contact.
Last night I put the finishing touches on the MVP, im planning on launching officially either today or tomorrow. The goal is to write a few posts on IH, Reddit, and a few Slack channels to drum up interest in the project. My goal is to have 100 signups within 1 month from launching.

Fantastic work Courtney @Scottworks. 😎 Way to go for backing yourself and the courage to be bold! Insert happy dance. 💃🏽
If you need any support with promotion and outreach to brainstorm/bounce ideas etc, please feel free to connect with me @sairmckee. I admire your efforts and if I can help please reach out. 🤗
hey, i saw the website.
It's awesome. But what's the business model, how do you intend to make money from this??
I originally Makerlist.co as a way to give something back to the IH community. I dont have any plans currently to monetize the site other than the affiliate links for my recommended books.
