Year 1 Web Traffic: 150,000 pageviews

A year into running They Got Acquired, what do our web stats look like?

This is an interesting one...

It's interesting because years ago, I would have tracked this closely.

Now, we don't really care about web stats.

We care far more about email subscribers... and seeing web traffic turn into subs.

Here are our stats via Fathom Analytics, which is a Google Analytics alternative:

For March 1-Dec 31, 2022:

📈 81,000 visitors
📈 153,000 pageviews

(Does not include our launch because I hadn't moved to this analytics tool yet.)

Top referrers:

📈 Google (yee-haw!)
📈 Twitter
📈 LinkedIn

I'm excited to see Google up there because we're optimizing for SEO. That's one channel I like to invest in because of the potential for long-term return.

Even better, we can see newsletter subscribers coming in via our (SEO-targeted) advice posts about to sell your business. That's worth tracking -- more closely than the web traffic itself.
